In short: we do not use cookies, we do not use any analytics or tracking services, and we store neither checked addresses nor check results.

Hosting and server logs
This website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in the EU. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner.
When you visit the website, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system. This data is processed only to deliver the website and to keep it secure, for example to defend against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest.
Checking tools for websites, domains and email
When you check an address or domain, our server fetches the website you entered or looks up public information about the domain and returns the result to you. Our server sends DNS queries to the public DNS resolvers of Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8), and expiry date and Whois lookups to the IANA directory, the responsible domain registry and, where applicable, the registrar’s Whois server. Only the checked domain is transmitted, not your IP address. The address you enter and the result are not stored. To prevent abuse, your IP address is held in memory for at most one minute in order to limit the number of checks per minute. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the requested service) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection against abuse).
Password checker
The password you enter never leaves your browser and is neither received nor stored by us. Your browser calculates a SHA-1 hash from it and sends only the first five characters of that hash directly to the “Pwned Passwords” service of Have I Been Pwned (operated by Troy Hunt, Australia, delivered via Cloudflare). For technical reasons, your IP address is transmitted to this service. Your password cannot be derived from the five characters. For more information, see the privacy policy of Have I Been Pwned.
The password generator and the checksum calculator work entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted, and selected files never leave your device.
What is my IP
This tool shows you the IP address with which your request reaches our server. To display the associated hostname, our server looks it up from the DNS resolver of Cloudflare or Google. The IP address is processed only briefly for this purpose and is not stored.
Cookies, fonts and analytics
We do not set cookies and do not use any analytics, advertising or tracking services. All fonts are loaded from our own server; no connections are made to Google Fonts or other font providers.
Affiliate links
Some links on this website are affiliate links marked “Ad”. You only leave our website when you click such a link. The provider or an affiliate network may then process data about your visit, for example to attribute a commission. The respective provider is responsible for this.
