Password Generator

Passwords are created with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator. They are neither sent nor stored.

Character types

How long should a password be?

For normal online accounts, 16 random characters are more than enough. For your email account, online banking and the master password of your password manager, 20 characters or more are recommended. Every extra character multiplies the time an attacker needs to try all combinations.

And how am I supposed to remember it?

You aren’t. Random passwords are meant to be stored in a password manager. Then you only need to remember one long master password. What to look for when choosing one is explained in our guide Choosing the right password manager.
